A full planning application for the erection of 126 dwellings on Longlands Farm, Badgeworth, is being recommended for a delegated permit at tomorrow’s Tewkesbury Borough Council planning committee meeting.
Proposal and site details
The application, brought forward by Ullnwood Investments, with Zesta Planning acting as agent, would provide more than 50 per cent affordable housing across the 126 dwellings, alongside a new vehicular access off Badgeworth Lane, public open space, landscaping, associated infrastructure and the demolition of the existing residential property located on-site – which is known as Shimba.
The housing mix would provide 63 open market dwellings, and 63 affordable units- 41 of which would be for social rent, and 22 for shared ownership. The dwellings would mostly be comprised of two-storey construction.
An internal footpath and public open space would be allowed for upon the site, alongside new boundary hedgerows and trees being planted to reinforce existing green boundaries.
The proposed site is comprised of a 6.7 hectare parcel of agricultural land to the south of Badgeworth Lane, near a waste management facility and archery centre. There are no land designations or conservation areas, but the site is located within the Green Belt.
Recommendation
The recommendation is for the corporate director of growth to be given delegated authority to grant planning permission subject to conditions and completion of a Section 106 agreement.
