Plans have been submitted for 131 flats just outside Reading town centre.

Cannon Capital Developments has applied, via Montagu Evans, to Reading Borough Council to demolish an office building at 104-112 Oxford Road, along with a decked car park, and replace it with three blocks of up to eight storeys with parking for 42 cars.

Offices on the site, which extends to Eaton Place, already have Permitted Development Rights for conversion to 58 flats but the new scheme proposes redevelopment with some flexible commercial space on the ground floor.

The site, which is west of the town centre and close to the Chatham Place scheme, wraps around listed Mannson House on the corner of Eaton Place which is used by the Royal Meteorological Society.
