Plans to redevelop Reading FC’s former training ground at Hogwood Park, Arborfield for up to 140 homes have been recommended for approval.

The football club’s hybrid application is for outline permission for the homes (56 of them affordable) and full permission for access off Park Lane , demolition of existing buildings and 2.83ha of suitable alternative natural green (SANG) space.

The 10.42-hectare site, which falls within Wokingham Borough Council’s Barkham ward is east of a consented scheme for a district centre and school. The planning committee meets on Wednesday, December 9.

Reading FC moved to a new training ground at Bearwood earlier this year.
