Plans for 149 affordable homes have been approved for a site in Swindon.
The Swindon Borough Council application for 100 flats and 49 houses at Queens Drive, a 2.47-hectare site at George Gay Gardens, around a mile and a half from the town centre, was approved by its planning committee on August 13.
Eighty-six 1960s homes on the site have been demolished and work on the first phase of the £30.5 million scheme is expected to start in early 2020 and be complete by mid 2021. The second phase will start then and is due for completion in early 2023.
The council says the scheme is being funded by a grant from Homes England, Housing Revenue Account borrowing and future rents.
