Obsidian Strategic has submitted plans for 150 homes in Chalgrove.
The application to South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) seeks to build on 11.7 hectares of open grassland in Monument Road next to Chalgrove Airfield which is designated for 3,000 homes in the SODC Local Plan. Forty per cent of the 150 homes will be affordable.
The land is an arable agricultural field. Around a quarter of it is a designated registered battlefield in recognition of the Battle of Chalgrove in 1643.
The registered battlefield status was among the reasons an application for 230 homes by Gladman Developments was refused in 2018.
The team on the current project includes Tetra Tech on planning, Thrive on architecture, RPS on heritage and Glanville on transport planning.
