Richmond upon Thames College has committed to an £80m second phase extension of its campus in Twickenham. The site on Egerton Road is adjacent to the famous Harlequins ground the “Stoop” and a “lineout” throw from the Twickenham stadium.
The proposals for a state of the art science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) centre were agreed at the board meeting on the 18th March 2020. The site will also include forensic sciences, robotics and a brand new Sports building to further develop the College’s sports programmes.
The new Chair of the college, Ian Valvona commented:
“I am extremely pleased to be joining Richmond upon Thames College at an incredibly important moment in the College’s history. The new campus is another key step towards providing outstanding teaching and learning for our students. The next phase of campus redevelopment will be nothing less than transformative – laying the foundations of a College for the future that will meet the needs of our students, local communities and employers in a rapidly changing world.”
ISG, the global construction and fit out specialist, completed the £34m phase 1 development and the tenders for phase 2 have now been launched.
