A shopping centre in High Wycombe could make way for 303 Build-to-Rent flats under plans submitted to Buckinghamshire Council.
Dandara Living has submitted plans to demolish much of the Chilterns Shopping Centre in Frogmore and to build a series blocks of up to 10 storeys. Listed buildings on the site in Church Street, Queen Square will be retained and refurbished and six commercial units will be incorporated into the ground floors.
The one, two and three-bedroom flats will be in two six-storey buildings and the converted listed buildings but there will no affordable homes in the scheme.
In its planning statement Dandara Living states: “The proposed redevelopment will remove an under-utilised shopping centre which currently detracts from the area and replace it with a development that becomes an integrative part of the High Wycombe town centre by introducing a new residential community within high quality buildings and significant improvements to public realm, landscaping and the pedestrian routes.”
The team on the project includes Aros Architects, PJA on transport and Turley on heritage.
