A community land trust, designed to support affordable housing in Oxfordshire, has raised half a million pounds.

Oxfordshire Community Land Trust says its successful fundraising will help support its first development, Crofts Court (pictured), a sustainable scheme of eight flats which will house people on the Vale of White Horse housing list.

In addition, the trust will now be able to reduce its reliance on costly debt finance.

Fran Ryan, the trust’s co-founder and secretary, said: “I am incredibly proud of OCLT’s achievement. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has invested in the trust. By investing, we can avoid rising loan interest rates and build more affordable homes for Oxfordshire.”

Now the trust is seeking further investors and has extended the deadline to April 12. Visit https://www.ethex.org.uk/invest/oclt
