Tours of the One Station Hill development in Reading are being offered later this month.

Developer Lincoln MGT has teamed up with Open Doors, a project by industry body Build UK to promote careers in the industry, to allow members of the public to go behind the hoardings of the 275,000 sq ft office scheme on March 16 and 17.

The tour will offer an opportunity to learn more about the development from representatives of Sir Robert McAlpine and to find out more about careers in construction.

Helen Denham, sustainability manager for Sir Robert McAlpine, said: “We are delighted to be involved in Open Doors once again. We are particularly excited to showcase the hard work that goes into buildings and share the many facets of construction with the local community in Reading.”

Suzannah Nichol, Build UK chief executive, said: “Many young people don’t know what they want to do when they leave school. So, we have a fantastic opportunity to capture their imagination and show them just what they can achieve whether they are considering college, a traineeship, an apprenticeship, or university.”
