Plans for 59 homes in Martins Heron go before councillors on Thursday with a recommendation for approval.
Bracknell Forest Council’s planning committee will consider plans by St William, a Berkeley Group division specialising in difficult brownfield sites, to develop a 2.2-hectare site surrounding a gas pressure reducing station between New Forest Road and Bog Lane at its November 6 meeting.
The application for full planning permission for 30 houses of up to five bedrooms and 29 flats is a scaled down version of an initial plan for 81 homes. The site was initially allocated for around 40.
However Chavey Down Association has objected, saying there would be a loss of trees and habitats on the largely woodland the site and the council has received 21 letters of objection.
The required biodiversity net gain (BNG) of 10 per cent would be achieved largely through off-site provision.
The team on the project includes Boyer on planning and Glanville on transport. Design was done in-house by St William.
