A 15, 080 sq m industrial development close to J11 of the M4 has been approved by Reading Borough Council.
The authority’s planning applications committee approved Arlington’s Reading International Logistics Park on December 2.
The scheme will go ahead on a vacant 8.5-acre section of the former Courage brewery. Consent has long existed for a large circular office building on the site but councillors heard that the demand for warehousing made the proposed scheme more suitable.
The park will be made up of four buildings under use classes B1 (business), B2 (general industrial) and B8 (storage & distribution).
George Wilson, development surveyor at Arlington, said: “It is great to secure planning permission for this site. The location is excellent for logistics operations given the proximity to the motorway junction and being on the main route in to Reading, making it ideal for last mile delivery.
“There’s a shortage of high quality stock in the Thames Valley and we will be looking to bring the scheme forward during 2021 to support the clear demand in this sector.”
