Panattoni has launched a public consultation over its 672,000 sq m plans for the former Honda site in Swindon, the largest in the developer’s history.
Panattoni which specialises in manufacturing, distribution and logistics projects, plans to invest £700 million in a state-of-the-art scheme on the 145-hectare site.
The company says the scheme will create 7,000 direct jobs over 10 years and a further 9,000 indirectly.
Honda’s production on the site ended last month and it will be handed over to Panattoni in Spring 2022 but the developer is working on a hybrid planning application which will be submitted this Autumn with demolition and construction due to start next Summer.
James Watson, development director for Panattoni, said: “We hope as many people will take part to let us know what they think and any ideas they have to strengthen the first planning application

We look forward to hearing what residents have to say and will then consider how we can incorporate their feedback prior to submitted the planning application.”
Panattoni is aiming for a minimum BREEAM rating of Excellent. All buildings will have solar panels, a fifth of the parking spaces will have electric charging points with ducting to the rest for future installations and heating and cooling in the offices will be designed to reduce CO2.
There will also be a heritage garden, designed to remember the site’s history with Honda.
