A shortlist has been drawn up of five teams competing to masterplan the massive Begbroke Science Park redevelopment in Kidlington, Oxfordshire.
Oxford University Development, the joint venture between the university and Legal & General, has announced the five which were selected out of 40 in an international competition run by Colander.
The 190-hectare site is to become a £1 billion residential-led mixed-use innovation district which will have up to 2,000 new homes.
The five are:

OUD chief executive Anna Strongman said: “We were inspired by the high quality of the entries and excited by the potential of Begbroke outlined by the teams. Practices and collaborations grasped the challenge of creating a place of world-leading research alongside a community calling Begbroke home. We look forward to engaging with the short-listed teams to explore ideas further in stage two.”
An overall winner will be announced at the end of February.
