UK Property Forums and DevComms have teamed up to formally launch the Leadership Lunch initiative across UKPF’s network in the Thames Valley, East of England and West London.
Leadership Lunches focus on one local authority at a time and are an opportunity to bring together a leading politician and members of the development industry to discuss to debate key topics or themes in a round table format.
The inaugural Leadership Lunch with Reading Borough Council took place at the end of 2021 with deputy leader Cllr Tony Page and Cllr David Stevens, the then Mayor of Reading, discussing the council’s bid for City Status.
The event brought together property professionals from Reading and the wider area to talk about the importance of the bid and what it could mean for the town.
The next Leadership Lunch is in early March and will bring together Cllr Steve Curran, leader of Hounslow Council, and a number of leading West London property professionals.
Matthew Battle, managing director of UK Property Forums, said: “As Covid-19 restrictions are reduced, the need for live events which encourages a conversation are increasingly at the forefront of people’s minds. Building on our past experiences and established networks, we think that the Leadership Lunches could be a vehicle to encourage debate.”
