Leading names in the film studio revolution have agreed to join UK Property Forums to discuss the burgeoning sector.
Nick Smith, joint managing director of the new Shinfield Studios, under construction near Thames Valley Science Park and Jeremy Pelzer, stage space strategy lead for the British Film Commission, will join Nick Paterson-Neild, planning director for Barton Willmore (now Stantec) at TvPropFest on Thursday, October 13 at Campus Reading International.
In a session chaired by DevComms managing director Rob Allaway, the panel of three will discuss the new media and film cluster which has emerged in the Thames Valley.
UK Property Forums managing director Matthew Battle said: “Film and TV is a sector that barely featured in our region a few years ago so to get such key people involved to discuss it really adds weight to TvPropFest.”
The session will be the second of three. The first, focussed on place-making and chaired by Berkshire LEP chief executive Alison Webster, will feature the deputy leaders of both Slough and Reading borough councils, Cllr Pavitar Mann and Cllr Tony Page, with Nigel Horton-Baker, chief executive of REDA.
The final session, chaired by Jon Gardiner, head of Central London leasing for Savills, will discuss the future of the workplace. Delegates will hear from Carolyn Pontifax, director of KKS Savills, Chris Davies, property relationship manager for Virgin Media, Guy Bishop, director of Alchemy Asset Management and Maria Sabey, head of Property UK + Ireland for Fujitsu.
The half-day conference will include networking, an expo and tours of the renovated Campus Reading International building.
