Plans have been submitted for almost 1,500 homes on land north of Oxford.
A hybrid application by Dorchester Residential Management and Christ Church, Oxford has been submitted to South Oxfordshire District Council which seeks outline permission for:
- Up to 1,450 homes (50 per cent of them affordable)
- 120 assisted living units
- 560 sq m of community buildings
- 500 sq m of commercial space
- A new primary school
- Green outdoor space
The application seeks full permission for a community hub which will be created from converting buildings at Wicks Farm, some of them listed, along with building new additions. That area will include co-working space, a gallery and retail/food and beverage areas.
The 125.5-hectare, mostly agricultural, site is on the north-eastern edge of Oxford, just north of Bayswater Brook. It falls just within South Oxfordshire district and is adjacent to the Barton Park development.
A planning statement by Pegasus envisages the scheme starting in 2024 with completion by 2034/5.
