Alex Aitchison, managing director of Lincoln Property Company, joined us to discuss Reading’s Station Hill in the latest Battle & Bunce podcast.
He talks about ‘significant occupiers’ who are looking at a third of the space of the showpiece One Station Hill office development in the scheme which is due for practical completion within a year.
With agents suggesting rents of £50 per sq ft, we asked him what the likely rents will be. He said there is a shortage of the kind of quality the scheme will provide, adding: “We are in a different world now because of that supply shortage of that best-in-class product – what your employees want.
“People seem less fazed about actually focusing on that discussion, they are more focussed on ESG credentials.”

Two of our previous podcast guests have taken on new roles since we spoke to them. Since our conversation with Cllr Tony Page, he has become Mayor of Reading and since we spoke to Cllr Pavitar Mann, she has become leader of the Labour Group on Slough Borough Council.
