A new initiative, RG NextGen, has been set up to help the next generation of real estate professionals in Reading and the surrounding areas build up a network.
The group was formed to help try and overcome the difficulty of networking at the beginning of your career, as well as to present the opportunity to network – as networking events in the region are generally dominated by senior figures.
It officially launched on July 6, with a launch event happening on Wednesday, August 2 on the upper floor Zerodegrees Microbrewery in Reading.
At present, the group is headed by a committee of five, they are Andrew Nock, transport planner at Motion, Caitlin Attrill, planner at Lichfields, Lucas Burgess, transport planner at Motion, Rebecca Houghton, surveyor at Vail Williams and Sebastian Conway-Jarrett, news editor at UK Property Forums.
Rebecca Houghton, surveyor at Vail Williams said: “RG NextGen is a great way to meet other aspiring property professionals starting out in their career. Networking is a great skill to develop but can be daunting at first, so the group provides a great starting place to build connections”
Sebastian Conway-Jarrett, news editor at UK Property Forums said: “I think most people can identify with networking being a hard skill to crack, but based on the reaction thus far to our launch event it seems a lot of people are keen to get out there and network! I’m excited to see the group develop and build lasting connections with like-minded professionals in the region.”
