A new combined shop and bar concept is to set up at Graven Hill to serve the early occupants of Oxfordshire’s new self-build development.
Independent operator Wine Valley Limited has launched Wine Rack and Wine Valley Cocktail Bar which will be trialled at the Bicester scheme, the largest of its kind in the UK. The shop/bar will serve alcohol, including Trappist beers, and sell groceries.
Pradeep Thangaraj, director of Wine Valley, said: “There are hundreds of people now living on site which meant that Graven Hill was the perfect location to launch this new concept.
“We are proposing a high end, friendly and cosy bar and shop which is in keeping with this high-quality development on the edge of Bicester, close to Bicester Designer Outlet Village.
“We are working closely with global drink brand company, Diageo, on this prototype venture and Graven Hill is the perfect launch pad.
“We are keen to appeal to all ages and want to provide a welcoming and relaxing place to meet and I’m planning a wide range of mocktails as part of our fantastic array of drinks.”
The letting was agreed by White Commercial Surveyors, which is advising Graven Hill Development Company on the commercial property within the scheme.
Managing director Chris White said: “With almost 500 homes now occupied at the popular Graven Hill village it has become an attractive opportunity for commercial operators.
“We are also marketing a site at the front of this substantial scheme in order to attract a pub/restaurant operator to deliver a new development on the prominent frontage site.”
