Plans by Barcroft Estates for a 70-bed dementia care home at a former RAF base have been approved.
Huntingdonshire District Council has approved plans for the home at the former RAF Upwood, north of Ramsey Road. It will support people of around 85 – 90 years old.
The new part two-storey and part three-storey building will create 80 jobs.
In its application Barcroft said: “The home will provide 24-hour support and care for the frail elderly, meeting a full range of residential, nursing and dementia care needs, including end of life and palliative services.
“The home will offer a continuing care pathway, where the long-term needs of residents can be met on-site as their care requirements may change.”
