ARC Oxford’s plans to demolish seven buildings for one new state-of-the-art building for the science, technology and innovation sector, have been approved.
The new 105,000 sq ft Ascent building, designed by Spratley & Partners, is expected to accelerate innovation and contribute £38 million GVA to the economy annually.
The lab ready development will have a rooftop lounge, wellness spaces, gym and ‘end-of-trip’ facilities. It is expected to become home to some of the leading science and technology companies tackling pressing global challenges. Construction will commence this year.
It will be BREEAM Excellent and will achieve Fitwel certification.
Dan Williams, ARC Oxford’s director of asset management, said: “This transformational project designed from the ground will provide a new home for businesses of all types including leading science and tech organisations.
