Plans to demolish and rebuild a secondary school in Kidlington go before planners on Wednesday (June 6) with a recommendation for approval.
Under the plans by Bowmer + Kirkland on behalf of the Department for Education, 7.66-hectare Gosford Hill School will be demolished and replaced with a three-storey school with sports pitches, parking, access and landscaping. It is designed to be net zero carbon in operation and is supported by Oxfordshire County Council.
The new school is intended to accommodate 750 students with an additional 150 sixth form spaces. There will be 70 full time staff.
There will be two car parks, one of 31 spaces for visitors and one for staff which will have 67. A total of 24 EV charging spaces will be created. There will be secure cycle parking for 116 bikes.
The team on the project includes Stride Treglown on architecture, DPP on planning, and Hexa Consulting on transport. A photovoltaics statement has been produced by RPS.
