GolfPod is the world’s most compact driving range and has recently opened its first facility at Cranham Golf Course, on the Essex-Havering border in Upminster.
Each GolfPod site features ‘Toptracer, tech-enabled bays’ as well as ‘automated ballm collection systems’. The implementation of lighting extends playing hours too.
Mike Stone, managing director of GolfPod, said: “GolfPod brings the game to places and people in a way that might not have been possible in the past. With our ability to offer a state-of-the-art range experience within a limited amount of space, we believe golf can be played almost anywhere now.”
Toptracer’s technology is operational at more than 1,450 ranges in 38 countries.
Scott Bevins, chairman and general manager at Toptracer, said: “The GolfPod concept marks an exciting evolution in how Toptracer technology can be deployed in the UK. Its modular and repeatable format is a unique vessel to grow our community of golfers.”
Shortly after the Cranham facility opens, a second facility at Basildon Sporting Village is expected to open for customers. It has been speculated that five UK locations and one European location will have opened before the yearend.
