Construction work on Firethorn Trust’s Ascent Logistics Park in Leighton Buzzard will begin in January 2021.

The park will provide 8 units with sizes ranging between 14’140 sq ft and 123’480 sq ft of industrial logistics space. Firethorn secured £32.73 million of construction finance for the project in November 2020 from Federated Hermes International.

The development project aims to capitalise on the increasing demand for logistics facilities that are environmentally friendly whilst also allowing employees to thrive physically and mentally. The site will offer cycle-to-work schemes as well as onsite showers and changing facilities. A safe pedestrian route between warehouses and office areas makes accessibility throughout the site easy and secure, whilst an external amenity area offers a sustainable working lifestyle.

The site covers 24.5 acres and has the potential to boost employment in the local area whilst offer high-specification midbox warehousing units for prospective occupiers.

Firethorn Trust expects the project to be delivered in Q4 2021.
