Cala Homes appoints new regional managing director
Homebuilder Cala has appointed Adrian Sims as Managing Director for its Thames regional business as it targets further growth in key residential locations across Surrey, Berkshire and central Wiltshire.
Adrian brings a wealth of experience to the role having previously held leadership roles at Barratt Homes, Linden Homes and, most recently, Crest Nicholson, where he was Managing Director for its Southern and Chiltern regions.
He joins Cala Thames as the region targets its next phase of growth following several years of strong performance in both land acquisitions and planning approvals. The region grew to maturity in 2025, leading to the strategic decision to create a new Cala Southern division to drive the Cala’s westward expansion as part of the Group’s plans for growth in England.
Adrian will lead the region’s expansion, maximising the team’s expertise in land acquisition and planning to scale up the Thames business through a mix of short- and long-term development opportunities.
Cala Thames is aiming to deliver 600 homes across the region by 2028. It recently exchanged contracts to acquire a high-profile grey belt site known as Chippings Farm in Cobham with the potential for 550 homes and has acquired another prime site in West Clandon with the potential for up to 200 homes.
The region has also secured outline planning for 1,500 homes at its Elizabeth Quarter development in Maidenhead, with Reserved Matters for the first 200 homes to be submitted later this year.
