Saffron Park, a landmark mixed-tenure neighbourhood from Chase New Homes, will deliver 101 properties for private sale, along with 67 affordable homes in partnership with B3 Living.
The affordable homes will include 38 apartments and 29 houses, ensuring they meet a range of needs at the 13-acre Saffron Park site. 70% will be allocated for Affordable Rent, offering below-market rents to qualifying locals. The other 30% will be available through Shared Equity, which helps buyers to get onto the property ladder through a part-buy, part-rent model.
With construction now underway at Saffron Park, the new homes will provide a new housing option from as early as 2027. Every home includes innovative energy-efficient technologies to further support affordability by keeping running costs low.
The affordable homes will be delivered via a partnership between Chase New Homes and B3 Living, a highly regarded Registered Provider with a strong track record of delivering quality affordable housing across Hertfordshire and Essex. B3 Living’s commitment to well-managed, well-maintained affordable homes means residents across all tenures at Saffron Park will benefit from a consistent standard of living.
The landscape-led development offers public open spaces, with green buffers, attenuation ponds and dedicated nesting areas for protected bird species supporting local biodiversity.
Construction is progressing, with the foundations, substructure block and brickwork, and block and beam already complete for the first 24 plots. With the above-ground brickwork now beginning, the transformational Thaxted Road development is truly beginning to take shape. The formation of the roads serving these first 24 homes is also underway, with tarmacking scheduled for completion by the end of June.
Foundations have now been laid for 71 houses, which comprises over half the site, providing a clear footprint of the future neighbourhood.
