Industrial units set to replace offices in Reading

Plans to demolish 35,000 sq ft of offices in Reading for three industrial buildings go before councillors on Wednesday (October 2) with a recommendation for approval.

Redwood (Light Industrial) Propco Sarl UK, part of Logicor, proposes to replace the 1980s-built Rose Kiln Court office building, between Rose Kiln Lane and the A33, close to Reading Link Retail Park (see Google image below), with a 30,000 sq ft industrial development called Logicor Park, comprising eight units and 33 parking spaces.

Units will range in size from 2,850 sq ft to 6,670 sq ft. Use classes will be B2 (general industrial) and B8 (storage and distribution.

Reading Borough Council’s planning applications committee has been recommended to approve the scheme subject to a s106 agreement being completed.

The building, formerly used by Thames Water, already has Permitted Development Rights to convert to either 34 or 38 flats and nearby Cadogan House has already been converted to 24 flats and is partially occupied.

A previous application by Industrials REIT for 11 units in two industrial buildings was withdrawn when the site was acquired by Logicor in 2022.
