BYD, a pioneer in battery technology, and the company behind London’s new electric double decker bus fleet, has selected ARC Uxbridge as its new home, to expand its presence in the UK and to cement its commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology and sustainable transport solutions.

BYD has taken over 27,000 sq. ft in Building 05 and chosen the campus for its UK HQ, which is focused on making public transport across Europe emission free.

The company’s move further strengthens ARC’s energy tech cluster, which has over 80 organisations, with the Faraday Institution, the UK’s independent research institute for electrochemical energy storage at the cluster’s heart.

Andrew Davies, leasing director at ARC, said: “We’re delighted to welcome BYD to ARC Uxbridge. This is an exciting addition to our vibrant community, and we’re looking forward to introducing and integrating BYD into our group-wide energy tech cluster. BYD’s innovative approach perfectly complements ARC’s innovation ecosystem.”

Over the last twelve months ARC Uxbridge has let over 96,000 sq. ft at the campus following extensive refurbishment of the campus’s buildings, has ensured the buildings are EPC A and BREEAM very good rating. The news follows shortly after Suntory – the company behind Lucozade, Ribena and Orangina announced it was moving to the campus.

ARC Uxbridge is a connected innovation campus sitting within 70 acres of London’s green belt. It is designed to foster creativity, innovation and collaboration, from the spaces such as Adapt, a dynamic co-working hub for campus’ members, the Clubhouse, a café, seminar and meeting place, through to the specially curated member’s event programme and the surrounding green parkland, with trails, sport pitches and fishing lake.
