John Lewis Partnership (JLP) has scaled down its plans for Build-to-Rent homes in Reading.

Last year the partnership submitted plans to redevelop its former distribution warehouse off Mill Lane into 215 energy-efficient one, two and three-bedroom flats.

Now JLP had submitted a revised version, cutting the number to 170.

The new proposals will maintain the 10 per cent proportion of affordable homes and be car-free. Among a number of alterations, previously proposed accessible parking spaces have been removed in favour of one car club space.

The initial plans for the development showed it would have a ground floor plus 10 floors. The new scheme proposes ground floor plus seven, stepping down to five on the Crossland Road side.
