Plans for 580 co-living flats in Woking go before councillors on Tuesday (July 15) with a recommendation for approval.

Woking Borough council’s planning committee will consider the plans by Woking Poole to demolish Technology House and Poole House for the 25-storey tower on a 0.17-hectare site in Goldsworth Road.

It will mean the demolition of Technology House and Poole House.

The new scheme is based on a consent originally awarded to Abri Group for 224 flats with retail on the ground floor, which was won on appeal in March 2023.

The new scheme will involve reconfiguration inside but will largely retain the exterior appearance.

Of the proposed co-living units, 349 will be allocated to the local Italia Conti Dance school in nearby Henry Plaza, with the remainder operated by Node Living.

The student flats will be on the first to the 13th floor with the Node Living units on the floors above.

The team on the project includes Turley on planning, Axiom on architecture and Ivory Group as development manager.
