Savills has added to its planning team in the East of England with the appointment of Ian Taylor as an associate.

Ian has 21 years’ experience in the planning sector and most recently worked for rural planning consultants Landscope in Bedfordshire.

An MRTPI chartered town planner, Ian started his career at South Derbyshire District Council and has worked in public and private sector planning roles in London, the Midlands and northern Home Counties.

He has experience of dealing with a diverse range of applications, from securing permission for large-scale mixed-use sites and managing residential schemes through the development plan process, to urban and commercial regeneration and rural diversification.

Based in the Savills Cambridge office, Ian’s new role will see him provide planning advice and consultancy to clients across Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, in sectors including education, healthcare, residential, utilities and infrastructure.

Ian, who has a BA (Hons) degree in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of Sheffield and a master’s in Spatial Planning from Birmingham City University, said: “I’m excited to be joining Savills and to work alongside a very experienced team with a strong track record.

“The variety and range of projects being undertaken was very appealing and I look forward to working with clients to unlock opportunities, deliver high-quality developments and support sustainable growth across the region.”

Andy Moffat, head of planning for Savills in the East of England, said: “Ian’s appointment reflects our continued commitment to investing in top talent, further enhancing our capacity to deliver exceptional results for our clients.

“His wide-ranging experience and skill set working on a variety of projects across a number of sectors will be a real asset to our clients and the wider team – allowing us to navigate the evolving planning landscape and deliver strategic advice across the East of England.”
