The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham has approved the redevelopment of the Tesco Car Park at Brook Green, located at 180 Shepherd’s Bush Road, London W6 7NL.

The project involves constructing 12 family homes, including four affordable units, on part of the existing surface car park. The development will feature a two-part, three-storey building with 11 single-family dwelling houses and a one-part, two-storey building for one additional dwelling.

The project aims to enhance the local area by reconfiguring the car park, reducing the number of ground-level parking spaces from approximately 204 to 149, including basement spaces. This reduction will result in a loss of 55 spaces, but the remaining capacity is deemed sufficient for Tesco customers.

The development is designed to be car-free, except for one Blue Badge space, promoting cycling and pedestrian access.

Upgrades to the adjacent Barb Mews are also planned, including a new 1.2m footway, improved street lighting, and better refuse and servicing access.

The project will create new cycle parking and maintain a pedestrian link to the store. These enhancements aim to improve the public realm for residents. The development addresses the need for family homes in the Brook Green area, contributing to the local housing supply with both market-rate and affordable options.

Tesco Stores Limited is the developer behind this initiative, which has been unanimously approved, reflecting a commitment to sustainable urban development and community improvement.
