Persimmon Homes Midlands has completed the purchase of land in Linmere, north of Houghton Regis, for 237 homes.

The site, acquired for an undisclosed sum, will consist of two, three, four and five bed houses. Nine per cent of the houses are proposed for affordable housing.

The scheme forms part of a larger scale plan to build around 5,000 new homes in Linmere over the next 15 years.

Zac Hurst, regional managing director at Persimmon Homes Midlands said: “We’re proud to have completed the purchase of land to deliver 237 new homes in Linmere, Bedfordshire.

“Our Reserved Matters application for this site has been submitted and we hope that with a successful outcome, we will be able to deliver the first homes later in 2026.

“Of course, what we do is about so much more than building quality homes. This development will not only generate significant job opportunities throughout the lifespan of the project but will also leave a lasting legacy of community benefits for the people of Linmere and the surrounding areas.”

The deal follows housebuilding group Untypical’s recent acquisition of land in Linmere to build 259 homes.
