Cratus Communications has appointed local government communications specialist, Alison Turner, to run its Southern Home Counties planning communications practice.

Alison joins Cratus as director and brings a wealth of strategic and operational PR, media, and communications experience with her from both the public and private sectors. A former head of communications at Horsham District Council, and previously public relations manager at Croydon Council, Alison has worked in high-level corporate communications and community engagement and consultation.

In addition to significant experience in local government, Alison has a track record of delivering successful communications programmes. She is passionate about supporting organisations to engage and work with the public sector and the communities they serve and will oversee political and community engagement projects for clients across the Southern Home Counties.

Alison said: “I’m really excited to join Cratus at a time when there is so much happening in the planning and development sector.

“I am particularly looking forward to working alongside some of the best operators in the sector, whilst supporting a high performing team that provides a great quality service at a local level.”

Julian Seymour, managing director of Cratus Planning Communications, said: “As soon as we met Alison we were convinced we wanted her to join our team. We’re really looking forward to working with her as we continue to improve our offer.

“Alison joins a fantastic roster of recent recruits including Chris Hossack, Vikki Slade, and Chris Tinker giving us some of the very best talent available.”
