Brent’s planning committee, in its last virtual planning meeting on the April 29, approved a proposal from Telford Homes for the redevelopment of Alperton Bus Garage.

The proposal is for the comprehensive mixed-use redevelopment of the site, following relocation of the depot.

A total of 461 units would be provided in three blocks as follows:

  • 306 Build-to-Rent units, in Blocks A and B
  • 98 units at London Affordable Rent levels
  • 57 units for shared ownership, in Block C

The three blocks will be linked at the ground and first floors by a single building comprising 2,400 sq m of light industrial floorspace, a 205 sq m unit for community use, a cafe of 64 sq m and cycle storage and bin storage.

Vehicle access and residential car parking would also be provided.

Telford Homes will also contribute to new public infrastructure for the junction of Ealing Road and Bridgewater Road.

The firm says the development would bring to life the streetscape of the area surrounding the old bus garage.
