Terra Strategic has secured an agreement to promote a rural five-acre site for residential development in the West Oxfordshire village of Aston.
The site, which could accommodate 40 new homes and associated infrastructure, is five miles south of Witney, off Cote Road.
The opportunity was introduced to Terra by Wantage-based Green & Co Estate Agents, acting on behalf of the landowner. It will now be promoted through the Local Plan process. It is currently designated for grazing. RAF Brize Norton is a major employer in the area.
James O’Shea, managing director of Terra Strategic, said: “West Oxfordshire’s traditional housing stock is considered largely unaffordable to those on lower incomes.
“However, the demand to live there – and benefit from the quality of life the scenic area offers – is exceptionally high. This site could deliver high quality public open space for the enjoyment of all, together with much-needed new homes.
“We are looking forward to working with all the local stakeholders to promote the benefits this land opportunity could deliver to the community of Aston and the parish.
“More well-located sites need to be brought through the planning process so that quality new homes can be delivered to meet the needs of locals and those wishing to relocate.”
