Brent Council’s planning committee has approved the planning application for the site in Hereford House and Exeter Court, South Kilburn.

The plan will see the existing Hereford House and Exeter Court buildings demolished and replaced with four new residential buildings ranging from three to 13 storeys, providing 250 new homes. A new public urban park and access road along the site’s west side will be created along with cycle and blue badge car parking.

The award-winning estate regeneration of South Kilburn is approximately half-way through. It aims to transform the area into a sustainable and mixed neighbourhood for new and established residents. To date, almost 1,400 homes have been delivered with over 500 homes currently under construction. As well as offering much-needed homes, the regeneration programme will also provide new and improved community spaces, school and health facilities.

Councillor Shama Tatler, cabinet member for regeneration, planning and growth, said: “This is “a major opportunity to turn a currently underutilised area into a thriving, rejuvenated community. This scheme will provide local families with safe and secure homes in the area.
