Cinch Self Storage, a leading self-storage company in the UK, announces the opening its 14th site in Earlsfield, London.

The store, which boasts 25,000 sq ft of lettable space, opens following the regeneration of an unused brownfield site, with several environmentally-friendly features implemented to ensure the long-term operational sustainability of the facility.

 Measures include:

• Renewable energy use: The site boasts 136 solar panels generating 55.76 kW of electricity.

• Water efficiency: The facility has low-use appliances and control devices to conserve water consumption. A green roof and drainage attenuation tank have been installed to minimise stormwater runoff, promoting responsible water management.

• Energy efficiency: The building showcases a 70% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to standard commercial construction.

• Promoting biodiversity: the site has bat and bird boxes, an extensive green roof system, and a planted wall to nurture local biodiversity.

Located at 666 Garrat Lane, Cinch Storage Earlsfield offers a range of storage options catering to the needs of local customers. With five floors of storage space, the modern facility provides start-of-the-art security features and amenities across its 300+ units.

 Co-founder Joshua Nimmo said:

“We are thrilled to open our doors in Earlsfield, our second site in London, adding to our growing portfolio of stores which offer reliable, convenient, and secure storage options for customers.

Sustainability has been at the heart of the development of this site, and we are delighted to have successfully revitalised an unused, neglected space for this new facility. We have made concerted efforts to integrate a number of environmentally friendly measures spanning water and energy efficiency, as well as biodiversity promotion, which showcase the possibilities for sustainable property development in the self-storage industry and beyond. We look forward to welcoming local residents to our store! ”

Cinch Storage was launched in 2018 by co-founders Richard Owen and Joshua Nimmo and now employs over 40 full-time staff. The company maintains a strong presence in the South East, with facilities also trading in Enfield,

Sittingbourne, Bicester, Brentwood, Brighton, Chippenham, Gillingham, Huntingdon, Leighton Buzzard, Letchworth, Mitcham, Newbury, and Newmarket. The Earlsfield facility is Cinch Storage’s third store to open in 2023, with four more sites planned to launch later this year.
