Work has begun on Pulleyn Properties’ extension and redevelopment of its headquarters at Theale.
The firm, part of Cube Cold which provides temperature-controlled logistics space, will have new office and warehouse accommodation totalling 10,155 sq m at its New Aquitaine House building in Exeter Way.
The work involves the partial demolition and extension of the current vacant building, with additional upgrades including new access routes, landscaping, car parking and recladding of retained structures. It will target a BREEAM rating of Excellent.
Around 145 jobs are expected to be expected to be hosted upon completion with a similar number involved over the 46-week construction.
Nick Kirby, planning director for Lichfields, which acted for Cube Cold, said: “We are delighted to have secured planning permission for Cube Cold’s much needed expansion into New Aquitaine House, which will bring a vacant building into use alongside substantial economic and operational benefits to the local community and broader region.
“The project highlights Lichfields’ expertise in steering complex major developments through the planning system and we’re proud to have played a key role in enabling Cube Cold to increase their capacity for growth in the Thames Valley.”
