A 35,000 sq ft office building will be replaced with a similar-sized industrial scheme under plans submitted to Reading Borough Council.
Redwood (Light Industrial) Propco Sarl UK, part of logistics developer Logicor, has submitted plans to build Logicor Park, a development of three blocks of industrial totalling 33,150 sq ft on the 0.69-hectare site of a 1980s/1990s office building called Rose Kiln Court.
The existing building, which had previously been used by Thames Water but is now vacant, is close to the A33, next to Cadogan House, a former office building, now converted to residential, and near to Reading Link Retail Park.
Redwood proposes a total of eight units, ranging from 2,850 sq ft to 7,500 sq ft. Each will have industrial/warehouse space on the ground floor with mezzanine offices. The flexible space will include use classes E(g)(iii) (industrial processes), B2 (general industrial) and storage and B8 (storage & distribution).
The team on the project includes Tor & Co on planning and Web Grey Chartered Architects.
