Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital has been granted full funding by the Government.

The hospital is a partnership between Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) and the University of Cambridge, and will be situated on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, combining clinical space with three research institutes.

The hospital aims to accelerate the early detection of cancer and lead the way in delivering bespoke, precision treatments that will radically improve patient outcomes.

Construction of the new seven storey, 26,000 sq m2building is set to begin in 2024.

The partnership is now waiting for the sign-off of its business case.

A full planning application was submitted to Cambridge City Council in January 2023, with a decision expected this summer.
