Property consultancy and Thames Tap partner Vail Williams has appointed Guy Parkes and Andy Baillie from Rare to join the firm’s agency team in Reading.

Mr Parkes has 30 years commercial property experience across the Thames Valley and wider south east region.

Mr Parkes who was a founding director for Rare  joins Vail Williams as a partner. He was previously European director and head of the western corridor business at JLL.

Andrew Baillie, who was senior surveyor at Rare, has taken a similar role at Vail Williams in the firm’s growing agency team which serves the Thames Valley region.

He has worked in the Thames Valley agency market for the last three years covering all aspects of office agency and property acquisition.

The news comes hot on the heels of Vail Williams’ recent acquisition of Trilogie CRE and forms part of the firm’s continued plans to expand its operations across the south of England, it already has offices in Crawley, Heathrow, London, Portsmouth, Southampton and Woking.

David Thomas, Vail Williams’ regional managing partner for the Thames Valley, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Guy and Andy to join our growing full property service team here in Reading. This is very much part of the next stage of our growth plan as we look ahead to 2020 and beyond.”

Vail Williams says the appointments build on its existing agency offering, complementing the firm’s wider services such as property valuation, planning and lease advice, investment and development expertise, as well as property asset management and occupier consultancy.

Mr Parkes said: “What impresses me the most about this firm is that every person I’ve met in the business is deeply passionate about their marketplace, whilst having the peripheral vision to spot wider opportunities across the south east.

“What this means for clients is that they benefit from the firm’s seven interconnecting offices across the south east, with a team of some 25 plus agents, each of whom is monitoring every opportunity that comes to market. I’m excited to join the team and to start harvesting those opportunities for their benefit.”

Mr Parkes and Mr Baillie started in the new roles on January 2 and are based at the 550 Thames Valley Park Drive offices.
