Bed retailer Dreams has completed the acquisition of its head office in High Wycombe from the company’s founder.

Its ‘Bedquarters’ building has been home to Dreams since 2004, and the acquisition from founder Mike Clare is seen as key to its strategy to reinvest profits into strengthening infrastructure and supporting long-term growth.

Currently 250 staff work from the building on Knave’s Beech Industrial Estate.

Chief executive Jonathan Hirst said: “Securing ownership of Bedquarters is a hugely exciting milestone for us, underlining our commitment to the future of Dreams.

“I would like to thank Mike and Ed Clare for their support through this process and for their role in shaping Dreams’ journey to date. This purchase is another demonstration of the strength of our business, enabling us to keep investing in our people, our craftsmanship and our customers for years to come.”

Mike Clare said:  “For the past two decades, this iconic building has stood as a proud and enduring symbol of progress, serving as the Dreams head office, strategically located adjacent to Dream’s distribution centre and showroom facilities.

“Having had the unique experience of buying and selling this building twice, over the years, it brings me much satisfaction to see it enter a new chapter under the rightful ownership of Dreams.   I’m absolutely delighted that Dreams has chosen to invest in this strategic location, ensuring a continued and meaningful Dreams presence in High Wycombe.

“I’m personally thrilled by the recent successes of Dreams, particularly in light of its acquisition by Somnigroup – I offer my best wishes to Dreams (my baby) for its future.”

Savills and Chandler Garvey acted for the Vendor, Dreams represented itself.
