Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner has put back the date of her decision on Holyport Film Studios to June 26.

Greystoke Land’s proposals for 43 hectares of film and TV studios on Green Belt were refused by the Royal Borough’s Maidenhead development control committee in March 2024.

After the applicant went to appeal, Ms Rayner called in the application and a decision was expected by May 29.

However, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has now written to the council to say further time is required and her decision will be made on or before June 26.

Greystoke’s application is for a scheme of 15 sound stages, totalling 225,000 sq ft, a virtual reality and gaming hub and a nature reserve, planned by JLL for the site, north of Forest Green Road, which is largely open land.
