The Hounslow Planning Committee has officially approved the development application for Block H, a significant milestone in the Brentford Waterside project.
This approval pertains to the land south of Brentford High Street and Waterside, High Street, TW8 8EW. The project, spearheaded by the developer, Ballymore, is set to transform the area with a comprehensive mixed-use development. The plan includes a maximum of 111,821 sqm of space, featuring up to 876 residential units, retail, business, and leisure facilities.
The development will enhance the local infrastructure with improved vehicular access, public realm works, and landscaping. Notably, the project will also include works to the river walls and facilities for mooring boats, adding to the area’s appeal. Phase 1 of the project will see the construction of 323 residential units, retail and commercial spaces, an energy centre, and parking facilities. The development will also improve pedestrian access and circulation, contributing to a more vibrant community.
Block H, a key component of the Brentford Lock West project, is part of this larger initiative. It is included in the architectural plans alongside Blocks G, I, and J, highlighting its importance in the overall design. The site, currently home to Jupp’s Wharf, will feature a mix of residential and commercial spaces, including a food and beverage area with a public terrace. The Thames Path will extend around the building, enhancing connectivity and leisure opportunities for residents and visitors alike.
