Before the impact of COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown in the UK, the Hounslow Planning team had seen significant activity in the vibrant borough. For the year from April 2019 to March 2020 the following had been achieved:

  • 907 New Homes (461 Affordable, 247 affordable rent)
  • 41,622 square meters of commercial floorspace
  • A new training facility for Brentford Football Club
  • Upwards of £500,000 for job brokerage and construction training
  • £50,000 towards public realm improvements
  • £440,000 towards highways improvements
  • £934,940 towards the Councils Carbon Offset Fund.
  • £7,094,206 towards the Hounslow Community Infrastructure Levy
  • £6,385,966 towards the Mayors Community Infrastructure Levy

Despite the slowdown due to COVID-19, the borough can look forward too many completed developments and further requests of the planning department:

  • Hounslow West and the Old Barracks
  • The High Street Quarter
  • The Brentford Project
  • The New Brentford Stadium and Kew Bridge
  • Feltham High Street

A year in Hounslow sees developments moving at pace and Hogarth would have been impressed.
