A joint venture between Mactaggart Family & Partners and Longstock Capital has acquired 160,000 sq ft Mountbatten House in Basing View.
The building, designed by Peter Foggo from Arup in the early 1970s and opened by Lord Mountbatten in 1977, was described by English Heritage (EH) as one of the top 10 post-war office buildings in the UK.
It is nicknamed locally the Hanging Gardens of Basingstoke for the James Russell-designed multi-level gardens.
Neither Longstock nor Mactaggart Family responded to our requests for comment but in a social media post the joint venture stated: “It will be further enriched as a cutting edge workspace by wellness features and amenities, delivering a regionally dominant office asset that offers unique and best in class occupational standards.”
