National consultancy Lanpro has appointed Faraz Baber as its new chief operating officer.

This move is part of a significant investment in the company’s growth. Faraz will be based in the company’s London office.

With a proven track record across public and private sectors, Faraz brings the authority, experience and capability to enable Lanpro, already one of the UK’s top ten fastest growing planning consultancies, to succeed in its ambition to become the UK’s largest independent planning consultancy. Faraz will oversee the company’s expansion while also nurturing and growing talent across the business and enhancing its capability to deliver large-scale projects. Faraz will report to the board, led by executive chairman, Chris Leeming.

The privately owned consultancy operates throughout the UK, with a presence in London and across the regions. With a unique multidisciplinary offering that covers planning, master planning, urban design, GIS, visualisation and historic environment, landscape architecture, ecology, and arboriculture, Lanpro is well positioned to respond to the government’s growth agenda.

Faraz’s career history spans both public and private sectors, including key operational and business development roles at RPS part of Tetra Tech and TOR; he was the executive policy director as Business LDN,  programme director at London Councils; director, development and regeneration at the BPF and director of built environment at the RICS. He currently serves on the RICS Land & Natural Resources Board and the BPF Planning Policy Panel.
