Udney Park has been put up for sale again, raising the possibility of community ownership given the development restrictions on the site.

Quantum had sold the site to Leisure Focus, a Chinese-owned offshore company. Leisure focus has concluded the development of the site as a badminton centre is not viable.

Shortly after the sale announcement, various stakeholders met to discuss a pathway to community ownership. Munira Wilson, the MP for Richmond, has been leading on this, and the momentum is building for a community-based solution.

The restrictions on the site are far greater than when Quantum purchased it from Imperial College. A community proposal was made but should have been considered in the previous sale.
