Dacorum Borough Council has granted Lidl planning permission for a new shop in Jarman Park, Hemel Hempstead.
Councillors in the borough debated whether to approve plans for the Lidl at the end of last year, where they agreed to delegate the decision to planning authority staff, with a “view to approval”.
Despite objections from Tesco due to the site being near to one of its stores, council staff approved permission for the scheme on May 4.
According to the plans, the new Lidl will feature 130 car parking spaces.
A developer statement reads: “This proposal will be constructed to a high quality with sensitivity to the local environment. The proposed scheme seeks to bring a new foodstore offering to this part of Hemel Hempstead by developing a site within the heart of a commercial area, whilst also providing wider choice to consumers and generating new employment opportunities.”

When will it be constructed?
What’s going to happen with the Traffic. Already shoddy since Tescos changed their car park layout years ago. There only One way in and one way out.
